Book your rental on the Atlantic Coast

The Atlantic coastline is dotted with great places to escape to for a weekend or a week's holiday. From Roscoff to Hendaye, no fewer than 8 départements are popular with tourists in search of idleness or a change of scenery. When you book your rental on the Atlantic Coast in Aquitaine, or a rental in Brittany, you're guaranteed a rejuvenating experience in the company of your loved ones.

The dunes of the Landes, the Bassin d'Arcachon, the Charente Archipelago, the Côte d'Amour: wherever you set down your luggage, you'll be lounging on the beach and discovering all the tourist attractions surrounding your accommodation.

The beaches and gastronomy of the Atlantic seaboard

The French Atlantic coast stretches for almost 2,400 kilometres from Finistère to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. La Baule, Royan and Arcachon are among its most famous seaside resorts. More generally, the Atlantic coastline caters for a very wide range of tastes.

Fans of seafood won't know where to turn when they stop off at a restaurant on the Ile d'Oléron or in the Royan area. Wine-lovers, meanwhile, should head for Gironde, a region famous for its wine offering. The appeal of the Atlantic coast also lies in its sandy stretches, which are a firm favourite with tourists, with some unusual places to discover, such as the Dune du Pilat.

Top 5 activities on the Atlantic Coast

  • Charente Maritime
La Rochelle, l'île-de-Ré, l'île d'Oléron: you're spoilt for choice as there are so many heavenly destinations in this département, particularly on the Côte Sauvage.
  • Pays Basque
After tasting Tripotxa or other culinary specialities from the Basque country, you can take a stroll along the Adour coast in Anglet and enjoy the show put on by the surfers.
  • Vendée
It arouses the curiosity of its visitors for many aspects and in particular for its preserved fauna and flora. All you have to do is stroll around Ile d'Yeu or Les Sables d'Olonne Zoo to see for yourself!
  • Aquitaine
If there was only one destination to visit, it would be Bordeaux! Its extremely pleasant living environment is no legend. What's more, you won't be bored for a second, there are so many sites to admire such as the Place de la Bourse, Saint-André Cathedral and the Jacques Chaban Delmas Bridge.
  • Bassin Arcachon
The Dune du Pilat is of course the must-see tourist attraction of the Bassin d'Arcachon, however this natural region offers other grandiose scenery. One example is Lège Cap Ferret, part of whose peninsula overlooks the Atlantic coast.

The main activities to enjoy

How to occupy your days around your Atlantic Coast rental? Never fear, there's something for everyone! Lovers of sunbathing have the opportunity to plant their parasol at Pornic or on the beaches of Biscarosse, the famous Landes resort. The environment is also ideal for relaxing on the beach at Gatseau, a small unspoilt cove on the island of Oléron.

The Atlantic coastline also boasts a remarkable historical heritage. If you're staying in Charente-Maritime, the La Palmyre lighthouse is a must-see. In the Vendée, it's the lighthouse at the Pointe du Grouin du Cou that stands out in the minds of holidaymakers.
