Activities to do in the Rhône

Discover Château de Rochebonne in the village of Theizé during your holiday in the Rhône. A magnificent golden stone château, so characteristic of the region. This 15th-century château, remodelled in the 17th century, is home to one of the six wine and tourist centres of the Beaujolais region.

The Château de Jarnioux, set amidst the vines, has been magnificently preserved. The tallest of its six towers measures 30 metres!

At Saint-Romain-en-Gal, you can visit the Gallo-Roman museum and admire archaeological remains dating back more than 2,000 years. The museum traces the history of the Roman town of Vienna, which once straddled both banks of the Rhône, in what are now the communes of Saint-Romain-en-Gal (Rhône) and Vienne (Isère).

For a nature break, discover the wild world in the Monts du Lyonnais. The Courzieu wildlife park offers themed trails to discover European fauna in a 25-hectare natural area. Grey wolves, Arctic wolves, birds of prey and marmots can all be seen in the forest, with superb panoramic views over Beaujolais, the Alps and Lyon.
